Jacob Montoya is a Generalist Counsellor with an Integrative Approach, specialising in HIC (Healing inner Conflict) and informed by ten years experience guiding people through challenges and life-altering experiences in the outdoors and working with the most marginalised in our community helping them deal effectively with complex trauma as well working with challenged youth.

I use an integrative approach drawing from evidence-based frameworks to tailor my approach to the unique needs of each individual client. The Healing Inner Conflict (HIC) framework  helps individuals compassionately understand and target the root of their challenges offering practical tools to make lasting changes and bring a greater sense of freedom and fulfilment.

I create a safe, non-judgmental and supportive space for clients to explore the complexities of their inner and outer realities. Building a strong foundation of rapport and warmth is central to creating a safe environment for clients to explore and better understand their situations.

I have over a decade of experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds, guiding people through transformative and life-altering experiences in the outdoors. As a dedicated and compassionate counsellor I have a passion for helping others navigate life’s challenges and reach their full potential.

Working with marginalised communities including dealing with lack, complex trauma, as well as challenged youth, has given me a deep understanding of the obstacles that can prevent individuals from living a truly fulfilling life. My area of interest surrounds the driving forces behind living a well-balanced, passionate life and understanding what mechanisms can get in the way of individuals expressing their true selves.

Continuing education and professional development is a commitment I take on to ensure the best possible care for clients. It would be an honour to walk alongside you on this journey.
